MFT – A Friend Like You

Hi everyone! It’s been a while, hasn’t it?! I’m excited to be back sharing cards with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink for the next few months 🙂 Vanessa asked me if I could fill in, and of course I was thrilled to do so and dip my toes back in the card making universe after being absent for so long. Today I have a card to share with you using some of the awesome products found in her shop. Let’s take a look at the card.

I love the animal stamps that MFT has, and I couldn’t resist using these cats from the Cat-astrophe stamp set. I stamped out four of the cat images from the set using one of my fave brown inks from Catherine Pooler: Icing on the Cake. Then I used my copic markers to color them all in. Every now and then I love the softer lines of the brown ink instead of going with my standard black ink. Once they were colored I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Next I used some colored cardstock and kraft cardstock from Lawn Fawn to create the background and other stamped and die cut pieces. For the background I stamped the paw prints with the same Icing on the Cake ink onto an A2 sized piece of kraft cardstock. I also added some white dots with paint and a dotting tool. I die cut a heart using the Stitched Heart die by Heffy Doodle and some Pencil Eraser cardstock from Lawn Fawn. This is one of my favorite pink cardstocks of all time. And I love the weight of the Lawn Fawn cardstock! Finally I stamped a piece of Sage Leaf cardstock with a sentiment from the Cat-astrophe stamp set with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

All that was left to do was put the card front together! I added foam tape to the back of the heart and tucked the cats around it, adding the sentiment last. Final touches included some white gel pen dots and accents on the cats and my card was finished! I had so much fun making this card and getting back into one of my favorite hobbies. I was definitely rusty, but I can’t wait to keep creating and sharing my cards with you all! Thank you so much for stopping by, and I’ll see you again soon with another card!

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hey everyone! I’m so excited to be back today to share some tags I made for the 25 Days of Tags event that Tracey puts on every year. There are always so many fun tags shared by so many amazing artist – if you haven’t checked out the other creations by other companies I highly suggest you do so!

I made my tags by using the Stitched Hearts, Ovals and Stars dies from Heffy Doodle. I wanted to give some fun texture/pattern to these tags so I used some other dies to layer over the die cut shapes. The Stargazer Backdrop die and Quilted Heart Backdrop die made for fun patterns. On the oval tag I used the Love die cut instead of a full Backdrop die. I added adorable stamped and colored images from Wanna Build a Snowman, Santa’s Village and Purrfect Day stamp sets. The sentiments were heat embossed onto colored cardstock and trimmed to be added to the tag!

The backs of the cards were die cut out of colored card stock and heat embossed on. I made sure to leave enough room to write a message on and added some twine to each of them to finish them off! Be sure to head to Tracey’s blog to see all the amazing tags from so many fun companies over the last 24 days! Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Favorite Things November Release

Good morning, everyone! I’m so excited to share some projects with you today for the My Favorite Things November release. There are so many cute new products being released today. Be sure to hop on over to the MFT blog and see all the details on the release as well as their awesome inspiration! Let’s jump right in!

I used the A2 Rectangle Frames dies to create a shaker in the center of this scene. On the card base I stamped the super sweet background image in the Frost Loving Friends and used Copics to color in the background. I love the soft colors for a winter scene! Of course I had to use the adorable little critter images in the set and decided to put them on the outside of the shaker to make sure they weren’t hidden by all that glitter I put in the shaker 🙂

I finished the card by heat embossing a sentiment onto the Essentials Stitched Sentiment Strip die. I trimmed it down to fit on the card front and adhered it down! Alright, on to the next card.

The next card was a simple design made using the I Really Miss You die and the So Very Fawned of You stamp set. I love how this die really fills up an entire card. You could do a lot with this die, but I decided to use it as a window to a Distress Oxide inked card base. I paired it with the cute deer from the So Very Fawned of You stamp set. These are both such great sets to use together or on their own.

Heffy Doodle New Release Blog Hop!

Hey there, everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today we’re celebrating the latest Heffy Doodle release with a blog hop 🙂 There are some really fun projects that you’ll be able to see today, and don’t forget that if you place a £30 order on the Heffy Doodle shop you get the Lil Lighthouse stamp set!

Alright, let’s get to the card I made for today! I used one of my favorite stamp sets from the release – it’s a really popular one with most people actually – You Go, Gull! I used my Distress Oxide inks and some metallic watercolors to create a fun background. Then I die cut some vellum waves using the new Breaking Waves dies. I love that using vellum allowed me to still show the water color, but also give the wavy effect I was going for!

I stamped, colored and die cut the images from You Go, Gull, and added them to the card panel. Next came the sentiment.

I ink blended Fossilized Amber Distress Ink onto some white card stock and heat embossed a sentiment from the Close At Heart stamp set, trimming it down to be a strip. I adhered that to my card with foam tape, and added some white gel pen details. And that was my card for today! Be sure to keep hopping and leaving comments for your chance to win a  £50 gift certificate to the Heffy Doodle shop! Here’s the line up:

Heffy Doodle and Studio Katia Hop

Hi friends! I’m back today because the Heffy Doodle gang and the Studio Katia team are getting together for a collab! Today we’re sharing cards that we made using our faves from both companies. It’s going to be a lot of fun, plus, there are prizes! You could win  25£ to the Heffy Doodle store or $25 to Studio Katia! Let’s jump right in!

IMG_4731

My first card was made using the Loops die from Studio Katia with the Spaced Outstamps and dies from Heffy Doodle. I made a shaker card by stacking 4 of the circle cut out portion of the dies together and adding in lots of Studio Katia bling! I love their iridescent sequins and the seed beads. I also used the dotted frame from the die set  to border the whole scene. How fun!

IMG_4727

After I made the first card I had a ton of circle cut outs, so I decided to put them to use! I adhered them all to a card base and ink blended my Distress Oxide inks over the surface. Then I stamped and colored a lot of images from the Dino Time stamp set. I just love the bright colors! To finish off the card I added a layered die cut of the Thanks die from Heffy Doodle and a trimmed down sub sentiment from the Dino Time set. To finish it off I had to use more bling from Studio Katia!

IMG_4737

Whew! For my final card I went a made a cute and simple shaker card. I ink blended a piece of card stock and die cut the Balloon Shaker die from Studio Katia from it. I love that you can use this die two ways! Once the ink blended part of the card stock was dry I heat embossed a sentiment from Heffy Doodle’sEveryday Sentiment Duos stamp set in white. I trimmed the piece down and added it to a A2 size panel after making sure to jam pack it with sequins.

And that’s it for my cards! I hope you enjoyed them. Be sure to keep hopping along, because the more comments you leave the better chance you have at those awesome prizes! Here’s our line up:
